ANZAC DAY
This is my great grandad and great nana on their last anzac day service together in 2016. Great nana sold poppies for years around Greymouth. She was known as the poppy lady.
This is a photo of me and my great grnadad when he was at war, and his small medals that go on his jacket.
Poppies are a symbol of the war and remembering the people who died at war.
The poppies were the first flower to grow after the war in mud and soil in Flanders in Belgum.
Poppy day was started in 1922 in New Zealand.
You must be very proud of your Great Grandparents Cooper. I am sure they are very proud of you too.
ReplyDeleteI love that your Great Nana is wearing poppy colours.
